Well hey Astro Lover. It's been a little minute. I'm so excited to be back. I'm so excited that you're here. I am Claire Gallagher from astrology with claire.com. That's C-L-A-I-R-E, and I am so excited to talk some really important astro with you today. Today we're gonna talk all about your most important planet, time Lord's explained.

But before we do that, I just want to give you a little update. If you're new to the show, this probably won't matter to you, so you can just fast forward. But for those of you who've been following the show for a bit, you know that I tried to rebrand the show and niche down to support creators. Well, my friend.

I changed my mind. I know better than to launch something new during Mercury retrograde. Especially when Mercury retrograde is [00:01:00] opposing your time, Lord, for the year. But I have Uranus on the ascendant, so I hate rules and I hate even myself telling me what to do. So I broke my own rule and I was like, I'm gonna just give this a go anyway.

And. You may have enjoyed the episodes. They were some of my most popular, and I love talking about business and creativity and I'll definitely continue to do that occasionally here on the podcast. But I also got a lot of feedback from my. Ride or die clients that they were sad and like, what are we gonna do that you're niching us out basically?

And I couldn't, I couldn't handle that. I was like, no, I'm not doing that to my people. So long story short, the podcast has been renamed yet again. As embarrassing as that is for me, I'm just going to eat it and it's fine. And we're going with the very unoriginal name [00:02:00] of astrology with Claire.

It's just gonna match the website and therefore. Because it is unoriginal and open. I can talk about whatever is lighting me up within astrology whenever I want. So instead of putting myself into a box, I'm letting myself be free. Thank you for being here through my Uranian clothing change, like my outfit change that I do all the time. I'm hoping that I can wear this outfit for many years and not tire of it, but you just never know with me.

Okay, enough about me. Let's dive into your most important planet Time Lords explained. So basically we're gonna start at the beginning of time Lords. What in the world is a Time, Lord, planet, and why should you care at all about it? 

What's a time, Lord? So this concept is really ancient in astrology. We're talking [00:03:00] thousands and thousands of years old. All right? And it comes from the Greek, this translation time Lord comes from the Greek ter, which means time, ruler. Okay? So that's where we get time Lord from. And essentially it's a planet that has influence over a certain period of your life.

And that period of time can be long, or it can be short. And by the way, because this is an ancient concept, only the seven traditional planets can be time lords. So Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto get left out of this conversation, but they come in in other ways. So during the time that a planet has influence over your life, during its time rulership, it becomes the most important planet in your natal chart for that duration.

It's activated or turned on, or we could think of it as being [00:04:00] empowered or given the celestial. Go ahead to do what it wants. And if you've taken any classes with me, like my Astrology Starter Kit course, you know that all planets have a job. They have a to-do list, and they have an agenda. When is that thing, that thing that planet wants to do?

When is it gonna happen? Well. It's most likely to happen when that planet is a time Lord. So your whole chart is not active all the time. And thank God for that because it would be too much. We would explode. But certain pieces of it turn on at certain points of life. And when those pieces are turned on, whatever they mean, whatever they promise, whatever uh, events or people or circumstances, they foretell, that's when they come about.

That's when it happens, is when it becomes a time, [00:05:00] Lord. For example, if the planet in your chart that represents relationships is activated as a time, Lord, it's more likely that whatever relationship events are foreshadowed by that planet in your chart, for better or for worse, they're more likely to arise during its time, rulership or its ship, which is a mouthful, which is why we say time, Lord, and not criter.

Okay, so that's what a time Lord is. Now, how do you know what planet is your time, Lord? So here's the part where your brain might break. There's a lot of ways to determine your time Lord, or time lords, because the truth is you have multiple time lords acting together at one time. But the system that I'm going to recommend starting with today.

Is the one that I just wrote my entire book about cosmic [00:06:00] year, and it's called Annual Profections, and it's probably the most popular time Lord system in modern day astrology right now. But I just want you to know that there are a lot of other time, Lord systems, that identify time lords of differing lengths in annual profections.

Like the name suggests, we're identifying an annual time, Lord, a planet of the year. We could call it POTY for short. Most people call it Lotty like Lord of the Year. But I like a little Scorpio humor, so I'm going with POTY Planet of the Year. Okay? So by this point, you're probably dying to know which planet is your POTY, okay?

I'm gonna give you seven reasons to obsess over your time, Lord Planet. And I'll give them out right now and then I'm gonna go through them one by one.

So the first one is self-awareness. The second one is foresight. The third is hindsight. The fourth is energy management. The fifth is timing. The sixth [00:08:00] is simplification and the seventh is guidance. Okay, so your time Lord does a lot for you. Let's dive into these seven reasons to obsess over it, and the first one is self-awareness.

Like I said earlier, your time Lord activates certain pieces of your natal chart. They get switched on like a light switch and whatever they represent comes to pass during its time. Lord rulership, when that happens, you essentially get a masterclass in that part of your chart because you're living it.

So in that way, your time Lord teaches you more about yourself and more about your natal chart than anything else will. Like I said earlier, not all of your birth chart is active all the time. Your time Lord turns parts of your chart on or off, so it activates certain pieces, and then the [00:09:00] rest of your chart is dormant or lying in weight in the background.

But when something is switched on, whether it is represented, um, or manifest as a character trait, a behavior, or an outside event, you get a masterclass in what that part of your chart is all about. I also like to think of your time, Lord, as a part of you that you get to know and strengthen and heal and integrate.

So for example, if your time Lord is Mars, you get to know the facet of you that is represented by Mars. Which is typically direct and active, sometimes can be aggressive or really energized, and this may or may not be comfortable for you, but we all have a Mars. And so when your time Lord is activated, a [00:10:00] certain part of you that maybe has been put in a corner.

Comes to the forefront and you get to make friends with it. You get to understand it, you get to listen to it, hear what it has to say, and you get to make decisions with it. So again, number one, your time Lord teaches you about yourself more than anything else will. Number two is foresight. Your astrology chart.

Yes, it does tell you about your character. It does tell you about your personality, but in the ancient lens, it's more so like a map of your potential and the events and things that will occur throughout your life. It also describes experiences that you're gonna have when your time Lord turns on a part of your birth chart.

[00:11:00] And whatever that part of your chart represents will bubble up to the surface. So this is where predictive astrology comes in and where the time Lord allows you to have the for knowledge or foresight of what themes or things might come up over the next year. In other words, the time Lord sets the content and the events of the year, it gets to decide what's gonna happen and what you're gonna be interested in, what you're going to be able to accomplish with ease and what might need a little bit more assistance or help, or what just feels out of sync or like it's blocked.

So again, your time Lord sets the content tone and flavor of the duration of, you know, its time rulership, [00:12:00] whether that's a year, if you're using annual Profections, whether that's a few years or decades, if you're using zoia, releasing, et cetera. But regardless of what system you're using, your time Lord can help you quote, pack unquote for the journey ahead.

So knowing that you're going on a Mars journey, you're gonna pack different things for that journey than if you were going on a Venus journey. You see what I'm saying? Very different years. If there one is ruled by Mars and one is ruled by Venus. Okay. Number three is hindsight. So the opposite of foresight.

We have hindsight, and this is one of my favorite, but probably most underutilized parts of time, Lord study, is the fact that you can make sense of your past by plotting out the time lords of your life. And that's probably an episode or a webinar I should do at some point on how [00:13:00] to make a time Lord, timeline and really create, a clear narrative of your life from a planetary perspective.

So your time Lord can help you make sense of the past, or excuse me, time lords of yesteryear can help you make sense of the past and also gain context and perspective for past events, whether they were difficult or really amazing.

So time lords naturally organize your life into seasons or into chapters, and each of these seasons has its own narrative and its own flavor. So again, if you already know how to work with Time Lords, I suggest making a life timeline and then super imposing your time lords on top of it. First, like, write down all the pivotal parts of your life. Like age by age would be the way I would do it. So age. 12. This happened, age 13. This happened and I actually did this while I was writing my book [00:14:00] to, um, flesh out the material a little bit more.

I went through over 70 journals to write this book and I fleshed out a timeline of my life by age. And then I superimposed the time lords on top of that so I could gain, um, perspective. And it was really eyeopening and very cool.

So again, understanding that maybe a certain span of years or a certain year was ruled by Saturn or ruled by Mars can explain maybe why they were so difficult and. Maybe it doesn't heal the hurt or make everything better, but something about having a cosmic reason is really healing for me. Like just having that 10,000 foot view and that perspective is really worth it to me.

Number four, obsess over your time, Lord, because it helps you with personal energy management. [00:15:00] And I mean real energy, like having the energy to show up for your life, your time Lord determines what's in flow in your life and what's a no, like what's gonna take a lot of extra elbow grease. This you can make you mad if you want it to.

Like you can get pissed off and be like, oh my gosh, this planet is telling me what to do. And I hate that. That would be kind of like me. However you could accept it and allow your time, Lord, to help you manage your expectations and your energy for the year. So if you know what's in flow and what's in no, then you can be very strategic with how you spend your time, energy, and money.

You know what's gonna work out. And so you can pour your attention into those things. And put the other stuff on the back burner until it's their time to shine. This can be [00:16:00] really helpful when you're overwhelmed or you're super busy. It's like planetary prioritization and as much as I fight against it, I fight against planets being the boss of me and, and they're not the boss of you.

You have free will and you have choice. Um, it really is true that whatever a planet represents is what's going to have the most ease and flow. So you might as well lean into that time. Lords give you permission to just focus on what is hot in your life right now, what's up right now, and trust that the rest will have a season at a later time.

So there really is a season for everything in astrology.

The fifth reason to obsess over your time, Lord, is obviously timing. So your time Lord doesn't just tell you what's happening this year and what's in flow, but when it is happening. [00:17:00] Your time, Lord is a real planet in the real sky right now making real moves. It's stationing retrograde or stationing direct.

It's talking to other planets. It's moving through different signs. And guess what? When your time Lord changes, your life also changes. So if you're more intermediate or advanced in astrology, or even if you're a beginner, this can be really great because you don't really have to worry about much other astrology other than what your time Lord is doing and following your time, Lord planet, like watching it in the sky, reading about it, listening to astrologers talk about what it's doing with other planets can allow you to plan for the ups and downs of life this year.

So, for example, I knew, even though I didn't heed the warning, I knew that this last Mercury [00:18:00] retrograde was gonna be a. Um, a blip on the radar, maybe a bit of a down wave for me because it was directly opposing my time, Lord, for the year. That is an indication, you know, when something difficult opposes your time, Lord, you can kind of plan for things to take a dip.

But on the other hand, if your time Lord is gonna do something fantastic, it's gonna conjunct Venus, which happened to me. You know, a few days ago I received a gift from someone and it was amazing, right? So if you wanna get really nerdy about prediction, use your time, Lord to time things out to time. The ebbs and flows.

The sixth reason to obsess over your time Lord is simplification. It makes astrology so much less noisy. Like I said a few moments ago, you don't really have to, I mean, you can. And it's fun if you're an [00:19:00] astrology nerd, but you don't have to pay attention to all the planets all the time. When you're working with time lords, you really just wanna zero in on that one planet and become a student of that one planet.

So in that way, time lords really simplify astrology. It takes something that's super overwhelming and makes it bite sized so you no longer have to wonder. What astrological weather is important for you? You no longer have to wonder which transits matter for you. All of a sudden that stuff gets cut out and you know, oh, if Mars is my time, Lord, I really just have to pay attention to Mars.

I need to understand what Mars means, both for everyone but also in my natal chart. I need to understand what Mars is doing in the sky right now. And how that applies to my needle chart. I need to know if Mars is happy or sad in the sky right [00:20:00] now and how that's reflected in my life. So simplification is one of my favorite pieces of working with time lords.

It really, even if you're a professional astrologer and you're giving readings, it can really help you hone in on what you need to talk to a client about. And finally, the last reason you should obsess over your time, Lord, is because it is your number one source for guidance.

Your time. Lord can become a go-to resource for direction and information. It becomes a powerful force that you get to co-create with, not be bossed around by, but you get to make decisions with [00:21:00] this planet.

You get to ask it for advice. You get to use its gifts and skills. So think of your time, Lord, planet as an. Ally or an assistant that does certain things really, really well, and maybe you don't naturally do those things really, really well. That's why you need an assistant, right? Well, when a planet that has resources and skills that you don't have becomes your time, Lord, suddenly those things are available to you.

You just need to ask for help. For example, Mars as time Lord, might give you access to courage and bravery that maybe otherwise is hard to drum up for you. So in the webinar I give you. A taste of how you would ask a planet for help. My belief is that time lords are not bossy. They're not gonna insert themselves into your life unless you ask, but once you ask, they are so eager to [00:22:00] help you.

So again, think of time lords as friends or assistants that can't wait to come to your aid. Alright, that's it for today. Time Lords explained all of the reasons you need to obsess over your time.
